“People only see what they are prepared to see. If you look for what is good and what
you can be grateful for…….you will find it everywhere.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Ralph Waldo Emerson is by far one of my favorite literary figures of all time, if not my
favorite. His words of wisdom echo over and over in my ear and I am continually
enlightened by his works. His essay, “Self-Reliance,” is my creed to live by and I often
gift it in paperback form to friends and family. I will delve further into its meaning in
It has been awhile since I have blogged as we have been very busy at The Culture
Connection breaking new ground. We are so very excited to announce our new
partnerships and affiliations with numerous artistic teaching facilities on Long Island, in
NYC and the tristate area. It appears that our program has found its niche amongst the
population we cherish and are hoping to give strength and wisdom to, our children.
I am also thrilled to announce that my first children’s book is being published,
“WWOOFING with Charlie.” It is an anecdotal adventure about the experiences my little
dog Charles Crawford had while we were organic farming in New England with the
WWOOF – USA, Worldwide Opportunities on Organic Farms. It is wildly hilarious while
at the same time deeply moving. We will provide more information soon.
I am looking forward to sharing more of myself with you through this blog and will in the
coming months address issues deep to my heart such as bullying, self-esteem, helping
others, cultural information and insights and so much more. It is an honor to engage
with all of you this way.
So with that said, we at The Culture Connection wish everyone a beautiful, peaceful and
joyful Thanksgiving. May your hearts soar with gratitude for all things in your life, big
and small; with a deep knowing that even things that may seem impossible to be
grateful for in your life have a place in your journey too. There are no accidents in this
Personally, I would like to extend my gratitude to The Culture Connection family and
team, you are the pulse behind my creativity and am so thankful you are in this journey
with me. Special hugs to all my teachers as well as James Ciervo, Debi Gaines and
James Perez. I adore you all. Thank you for believing in me and my work.
And lastly, the few that are part of my soul on every level and have for what seems like
a lifetime been there for me. My Father, Dan; you are my world and even with all our
ups and downs, I would not be here without you. Doreen Romero, my Artistic Director
and Best Friend; my world is so much fuller and richer because of you, Kevin, for all
you have taught me and for teaching me the power of forgiveness. And of course my little Charlie……..I could not imagine a world without
you in it.
