Dorene Rose is a virtuoso of sorts. A modern day renaissance woman who has skillfully mastered the art of diversity. She is a respected visual artist who has had installations at numerous galleries on Long Island and taught her craft at many revered art studios. Her collection and vision regarding “Space” has been called effective and cutting edge.
Her love of the arts and dedication to creating cultural community awareness transcends her paint brushes and canvas as she has become one of the leading organizers of artistic and cultural events in Suffolk County. Enhancing events like Patchogue’s popular weekly summer festival Alive After Five by injecting art, poetry and music into the usual fanfare, she has now become one of the committee’s most respected members and coordinators. Brilliantly curating local artists, poets and musicians to a home grown stage, she has assisted in raising the bar for the fun street festival. This year, 2017, she brings the same expertise to Riverhead as they embark on their first Alive After Five summer journey. Look for Dorene and her artists, poets and musicians on the steps of the East End Arts Council. This is just one of the many events Dorene has overseen that raises cultural awareness in our local communities.
Dorene is also a certified Holistic Wellness Coach. Her private practice, Empowered and Living Well, is dedicated to enlightening others to alternative, healthier and more soulful ways of living. She is the Founder of Long Island’s Women’s Empowerment Group that meets on a quarterly basis. This is an open forum for women that focuses on self empowerment and provides a safe environment for sharing and support.
In her downtime, Dorene is a bookkeeper for a major corporation in Melville, tends to her two amazing daughters, gentle twin black cats, enjoys cooking and creating art.
