Stacy Sbarra

Founder and CEO

Stacy is the founder and CEO of The Culture Connection. Prior to founding The Culture Connection, Stacy owned The Poetry Connection, a company dedicated to bringing the arts to the elderly and memory impaired. The Poetry Connection found huge success among Nursing Homes and Assisted Living Facilities on Long Island. Stacy has been a featured speaker at both TRASC (Therapeutic Recreation Association of Suffolk County) and TRALI (Therapeutic Association of Long Island) conferences. She also volunteers for The Twilight Wish Foundation, which grants wishes to seniors.

Stacy’s passion for bringing the arts to seniors and children stems from her successful career as a freelance writer and journalist. Stacy has written for all major Long Island newspapers and magazines with a focus on the arts and culture. She has reviewed numerous local theatrical productions, literary works, performances, and films, including the 2015 documentary about fifties heartthrob, Tab Hunter, called “Tab Hunter Confidential.” Stacy has also interviewed and written articles about many internationally-renowned musicians, including Italian Soprano, Martina Bortolotti, and The Grateful Dead’s iconic percussionist, Mickey Hart.

Dedicated to creating cultural awareness on a local level, Stacy is a member of several arts councils on Long Island and actively supports local cultural events. In the past few years, she has organized events such as Mother Earth Day for The Brickhouse Brewery in Patchogue and has performed her own poetry at numerous open mics throughout Long Island.  In 2016, her poem, “Edie,” was published in Grabbing the Apple, An Anthology of New York Women Poets.

Stacy earned her B.A., cum laude, in English, from Adelphi University and studied law at The New England School of Law in Boston, following which she held positions at The Ulysses Group, Philips Electronics, SITA, Inc. and MSM Protein Technologies.

Born and raised on Long Island, Stacy currently lives with gratitude amongst the tranquility and beauty of her Great South Bay waterfront home.
